Pea Mashed Shepherd's Pie

Oriana's Shepherd's Pie with Pea-Mashed Potatoes, Oriana Sharp (The Buff Mom Waterloo)
1 lb ground meat of choice (extra lean ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken)1 small onion diced2 celery stalks diced5-6 small heritage carrots or regular carrots diced7-8 mushrooms diced1 tsp granulated garlic and onion1/4 cup no sugar added ketchup3 large yellow potatoes, peeled and diced1 1/2 cups frozen peas2-3 tbsp butter or gheeSalt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375. Sauté meat with onion and celery until lightly browned in pot. Drain and return to pot. Add carrots and mushrooms. On medium low heat soften veg with meat. Add ketchup, garlic and onion. Stir to incorporate.
Meanwhile boil potatoes, when almost softened add peas to potatoes and continue to boil for 5 minutes. When completely softened drain and add back to pot. Add salt, pepper and butter. Mash until desired consistency.
Add meat/veg to casserole dish and top with mash, covering the meat. Bake in oven for 30 minutes until top is lightly browned.
