Fit at 40: Size 12 to a Size 6

This Cambridge mother of two has gone through an amazing transformation. Tania Mulley has dropped 33 inches since joining The Buff Mom Boot Camp this past fall.  She credits Buff Mom classes, videospodcasts, clean eating and a positive mindset for her success. Here's more in this one-on-one interview.

L-What was the turning point for you when it came to your weight?

T-I realized that I was soon turning 40 and felt like I had no energy or motivation to play with my kids. I was tired of being tired, feeling weak and self-conscious.

L-What old habits were holding you back?

T-Horrible eating habits full of poor choices and lots of excuses.

L-Describe how you felt after your first class?

T-Exhausted and maybe a bit scared. It's always hard to get started in fear of failing. Succeeding in my first small steps of drinking water and no sugar in my coffee, combined with going to class every week, quickly led to great results in inches lost, and more small steps achieved.

L-What are you doing now that you never thought possible?

T-I certainly never thought I would ever make it to a size 6. I completely changed my eating habits. Going back to work after my second child brought on bad eating habits. I was going out for lunch everyday and not making good food choices. I now pack my lunch and snacks, watching sugars especially, and portion size. I always said I never had the time to pack a lunch, but really, I was just disorganized and full of excuses.

L-What advice do you have for others who are where you were when you started?

T-Just start small. Don't beat yourself up every time you slip, just get back on track and take power from your little successes. Get moving and don't forget the water!

L-Awesome job Tania!
